Immersed in Love

Immersed in Love
BY:Maysoon Al Eryani

Nothing better than your smell
Leaning
On the apples of my dreams
I will turn off all lamps…
And walls where our souls dwell
I will fold them in many colors
And flower their broken ends…
I'm not like the fragile ones
Who bury their hands in whiteness
In an incomplete poetry book
Thus you melt in grief immersed in love
Between my embroidered dresses
Like an old gypsy
You spin
and spin
Like the days of pines,
unable to die
With their scattering coming old age
Through the light of a cloud
Perfumed with the old times tales
With old dwarfs
With unfulfilled wishes

There is always something to hope for
But like sensible lovers we release it to the sky
Fancying that it in some bag,
Planets will shrink
We climb them
Or maybe kick them
Seeking paradise.
Then spontaneously scorn
A land
Where we were not born equal

I want deep eyes like you
Wary in the sun and the Pacific
Without a comma
Or exclamation marks
Hollow
Like two hazelnuts in the pocket of a child
Like you
I want to
Blossom
